Having a poor diet is probably one of the worst habits we can get caught up in. While the debilitating effects of habits like smoking and drinking are generally long term, a poor diet can rapidly affect the body's ability to function properly. High-fat fast foods, while quick, cheap and easy, have very little to offer the body. Yet they have become prevalent in our fast-paced society. Fast food in general is very high in salt and fat, especially saturated fat. A salty diet is known to be a factor in the cause of high blood pressure.
